unlocking the story
Unlocking The Story was project initiated by Scottish Waterways Trust exploring and celebrating the social and industrial history of Glasgow’s canals. These canals are steeped in rich heritage, and have played a defining role for the communities of North Glasgow from their industrial heyday through to the current renaissance led through the Glasgow Canal Regeneration Project.
As part of a new public art commission which sits as a key element of the Unlocking the Story programme, we delivered a series of public and local community group workshops exploring ideas for potential new art work to sit here alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal. We worked with a variety of groups to explore the canal through screen printing, creative walking trails, photography, boat building, natural clay moulding, and artist talks.
