Maria Domingue

I like making sculptural collages and installations. I pull on different found forms and images and gather them together to make arrangements that make sense to me. I like making things that look dated, that reference contemporary culture and are the opposite of timeless. Right now and for a while I've been very interested in finding sculptural ways to present different digital effects & transitions, the 90s ones you find on old Wordart, Microsoft Powerpoint and iMovie. Currently graphic design is flattening and these nostalgic digital forms where physics is referenced is something I think is interesting to turn into a 3D sculpture out of a screen.
