Hannan Jones

Hannan Jones

Hannan Jones is an artist, musician and programmer of Algerian and Welsh origin

Working at the intersections of sound, installation, performance and moving image, Hannan’s practice responds to cultural and social migration by engaging language, rhythm, and identity.

With an emphasis on worldbuilding, psycho-geography, and hybridity Hannan adopts a research-based, interdisciplinary approach that allows for creating projects that expand our perspective and reflect ourselves in our surroundings; to find moments of ‘togetherness,’ if only temporary.

Hannan has programmed alongside Dardishi Film Festival, Glasgow (2021) and as an Associate at Open School East, Margate (2020-21). She has received awards and support from A/C Projects; Arts Council England; Sound and Music UK and the Ian Potter Cultural Trust. At present, Hannan is a Co-Director of Transmission Gallery.
