Alice Jacobs

Alice Jacob‘s practice focuses on the audiences’ perception of space and their interpretation of art devoid of image. Using light, altered architecture and often reflective media, the work is separated from any image, natural light or guage of the actual length or depth of the space, the audience is left looking and something that is there, yet without any perception of what it is they are looking at. Something, but almost nothing at all.

Originally from York, Alice Jacob‘s started studying Fine Art at Leeds College of Art and graduated from Sculpture and Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art, having been named as one of the RSA New Contemporaries. Alice has remained in Glasgow to set up Flux Laser Studio a laser engraving and cutting studio for artists, designers and architects alongside fellow graduate Philip Longstaff.
