Cristina Garriga (Barcelona, 1986) trained both as an architect and as an artist. Her practice aims to expand the conventions of art, architecture, literature and technology, with an interest in their capacities to envision alternate ways of being and inhabiting the world. Mainly working as My Bookcase, her work often takes shape in events, exhibitions and online projects that question the dynamics of social encounters in today’s society.

Cristina Garriga (b. Spain) graduated from ETSAB Barcelona Architecture School in 2012. After working as an artist in collaboration with various architecture studios in Barcelona and Berlin, she moved to Glasgow to specialise in Sculpture. In 2014 she completed her studies at the Glasgow School of Art, MLitt in Fine Art Practice. Since then, Garriga has been awarded with the Deutsche Bank Award in Creative Practice and the Print Future Awards for the project My Bookcase. Recent commissions include ‘reading an exhibition together’ at Scottish National Galleries and recent artistic residencies include Creative Lab at CCA Centre of Contemporary Arts, Glasgow.
