Leontios Toumpouris moves between disciplines to investigate the appropriation of qualities, properties, methodologies and gestures inventing ways to physically convey transitions. In his recent practice, alchemical discourse, language and painting inform methodologies of interaction with matter, fiction and narrative. Methods of research and production are defined through matter and body correlations, manifested in site-responsive installations, text, sound and performance. Curating and the production of events exist alongside his studio practice, exploring tools of engagement within his areas of investigation.
Leontios Toumpouris is a visual artist currently based in Glasgow. In 2016 he graduated from Glasgow School of Art’s MLitt Sculpture. He exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions and participated in residencies and workshops in Europe.
