Glasgow Doors Open Day

Glasgow Sculpture Studios (GSS) will once again be participating in Doors Open Day the annual, city-wide event that sees buildings across the city opening their doors to the public.
A variety of activity will be taking place in and around Glasgow Sculpture Studios during this weekend, please note however there will be no exhibition on in our gallery due to a change-over in shows.
As part of Doors Open Day GSS will be showcasing Creative Cargo its new Learning and Engagement initiative, a floating travelling exhibition and workshop space for the Forth & Clyde Canal & surrounding communities.
Hop on to see our exhibition ‘How creative is your cargo?’ or enjoy associated canal-side art activity.
The Creative Cargo barge will be travelling along the Forth and Clyde Canal starting at Glasgow Sculpture Studios at 11am both days. It will travel up to Maryhill Lock 21, Lambhill stables, returning back at Apple Cross Gate at 4.30pm on Saturday. On Sunday the boat will retire at Port Dundas between 4pm – 5pm where we will be joined by Ricefield Arts Centre for a barge inspired Chinese workshop on the canal side.

There will be FREE drop in workshops on offer at Glasgow Sculpture Studios in its reception area and a number of tours will be available throughout the day for visitors to view our artist facilities and see what goes on behind the scenes.
Building tours will take place at the following times 11.30, 13:00, 15:00 & 16:00
