Solveig Einarsdottir’s work transforms the aesthetics of the everyday into objects of seduction and wonder. Using a variety of materials and processes she explores the parallels between the real and the surreal, the mundane and the spectacular. Whether inspired by childhood nostalgia, popular culture or art history, her works are always grounded in pleasure and aesthetics.

Solveig Einarsdottir was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, graduating from Iceland Academy of the Arts Reykjavik with a BA in Fine Art in 2003 and an MFA from The Glasgow School of Art in 2010.
